Sculpture
Clay

Michelangelo’s ‘The Dying Slave’
This task required us to recreate Michelangelo’s The Dying Slave. Within a 2 day period I utilised the wedge method to carve away the shape the clay into the figure and slowly using carving tools to find the figure from within the clay.
Limestone

‘Cold stone Cappy’
Over a two day period we were tasked with a limestone carving project. For this project I carved a capsicum out of my block of limestone.
Cardboard
Group construction
Collectively in groups of 4 we were tasked to create a sculpture which interacted within the environment around us. Working as a team we adapted this sculpture which relies on the structure of the building to support itself.

‘A helping Hand’
Organic sculpting out of an inorganic material. For project this I decided to replicate the movement of a dancers hand.
‘Nifty Geometry’

Nifty Geometry, takes the structure of carboard to create sleek geometric figures. These geometric sculpture pieces take inspiration from everyday objects in a geometric form.
Printmaking

‘A run through Pyrmont’
These printed are made from individual lino block stamps. All the stamps were brought together in different configurations and colours to represent the streets and areas of my childhood neighbourhood, Pyrmont.
‘ Mr CB
Mr CB is a copper etched plate print of my childhood teddy bear. This was a layered etching plate where different shades were added to create detail within the print.
Term 1 Critique
End of term 1 printmaking had a critique of our finished work.

‘ Snugglepie and Cuddlepot ‘
Working off of an old students existing copper etched print, using resist techniques, re-etching and new linework these prints were created. They are a distortion on the original characters of ‘Snuggle pot and Cuddle pie’, reimagined within a future where there story is forgotten.
Observational Drawing
Observational drawing class taught students to sharpen the eyes when looking at still life’s and live studies. In this class we were taught to properly sketch with proportions and how to successfully reproduce what our own eyes can see in an accurate form.

Miniatures Project
For this project a miniature was to be created and then drawn. I choose to replicate the sandpit which lived at Pirrama Park not far away from my house. As a child I spent hours looking up into the umbrellas lying in the sand. But now I walk past the park and it remains just a memory. This feeling of isolation from a place which I once spent hours in is what I wanted to represent within my sketches.

General Drawing

Sketches
General Drawing allowed us to create more creative liberties when visualising still life’s. In the above sketches I am transforming the fluidity of fruit into a rigid for through the use of straight lines and harsh pen lines which can never be erased.

Pastels
Pastel sketches of strawberries and apples
Ink
Creating different textures and effects with ink.
