Pink Cactus Props
Pink Cactus are a creative workshop based in Rockdale, specialising in entertainment fabrication. Props, stage sets, special effects and more. During high school I had the privilege of doing work experience with Pink Cactus, helping them to create different items for up and coming installations.
The Peacock Throne
The Brookvale Union Peacock Throne was a large throne made from a toilet a a piece of ply. All the elements for the back of the chair were CNC routed and then painted by myself. Further all the gold leaf was applied by myself. This project also taught me about applying gold leaf to different objects. This was also my first experience learning about a CNC machine.
Chinese New Year Rooster (2020)
For the Chinese New Year Rooster I got to shadow the crew as they began to construct this massive project. I aided in unloading materials and going on Bunnings runs as well as learning about the 3D modelling created for the project. I learnt about fiberglass for the first time and the logistics of mixing different materials into one build.
